EXO welcomes back Pablo Ramirez as General Manager of EXO Indonesia. Previously serving as EXO Travel’s CFO, Pablo brings a passion for travel, deep connection to Indonesia and finance expertise to his new role.
A global citizen with roots in Colombia and upbringing in Australia, Pablo has lived and worked on four continents. He first joined EXO as CFO in 2018, supporting the company through a period of remarkable growth and through the challenges brought on by the COVID pandemic.
Taking the helm of EXO Indonesia, Pablo looks to elevate our product offerings and enhance partner services by channelling his financial expertise and business acumen, as well as a personal passion for the country.
‘Professionally and personally, [accepting the GM role] felt like the right thing to do’, Pablo explains. ‘It’s really what I wanted to do and where I want to be. I can do finance with my eyes closed, but for GM I have my eyes and ears open. I love travelling and I love conversing and getting to know people from different walks of life.’

Having lived in Jakarta previously and travelled extensively throughout the country, Pablo is looking forward to settling in and exploring more corners of Indonesia.
‘One of the attractions of the role was coming back to Indonesia. My wife is Indonesian and even though we have not lived here for a long time, it has always been my second home’, Pablo explains.
Pablo also sees great potential in what Indonesia has to offer, citing the friendly people, fascinating culture and seemingly endless possibilities for exploring. ‘Post-COVID, travellers do not want to be in crowded places. They want to be in more remote places where people haven’t been so often’, Pablo notes. ‘I think Indonesia is the right paradise to make that happen’.
As a competitive cyclist, Pablo is also hoping to elevate EXO’s Indonesia adventure offerings. ‘I’ve always been a very adventurous and sporty kind of person and we have an amazing adventure team here at EXO Indonesia’, Pablo explains. ‘What we do, we do well. I’m looking forward to scratching a bit deeper and finding more niche adventures to delve into. Every island offers something different. It’s a huge adventure playground’.

Pablo is a self-proclaimed ‘Finance guy with a business brain’. His professional career has not only taken him all over the world, but also positioned him to be involved in the operations and business strategies of various successful companies.
‘Being a chartered accountant, you are not simply a bean counter. You are more of a business partner’, Pablo explains. ‘I have always loved that side of the job and my career path has naturally taken me towards roles like GM, CEO and running businesses.’
Having served as EXO Travel’s CFO from 2018-2021, Pablo also has a deep understanding of the business, beyond just the financial side.
When approached for the Indonesia GM position, Pablo remarks ‘I knew that I have the right experience already and felt ready to take the next step and do it in an industry I really like. It’s what I wanted to do professionally and, of course, I was excited to be welcomed back to EXO’.
